Tales of the Maya Skies is an immersive digital fulldome experience using surround sound, 3D laser scanning and sophisticated postproduction techniques to reproduce the virtual reality of the ancient Maya civilization. Narrated by Latin Grammy winner Lila Downs and with an original soundtrack by Michael Stearns. Journey back in time through the jungles of the Yucatan to the temples of Chichén Itzá, and the world of the ancient Maya.

In a story that weaves together a rich combination of Mayan science, culture and legend, we learn how the Maya were able to make sense of an ever-changing world, and through their extraordinary understanding of mathematics and astronomy.
This beautifully illustrated story reveals how the Maya scholars developed a sophisticated understanding of astronomy, architecture and mathematics that enabled them to predict solstices, solar eclipses, weather patterns and planetary movements, and through this knowledge, make sense of the world around them.

Los espectadores son transportados a las junglas de México, en donde los mayas construyeron ciudades y templos alineados a los movimientos del sol, la luna y los planetas. Los antiguos mayas comprendieron el dinámico mundo observando, tomando nota y prediciendo eventos naturales tales como los solsticios, los eclipses solares, los patrones climáticos y los movimientos planetarios. Por muchos años observaron y documentaron eventos astronómicos con gran precisión y estas observaciones, en combinación con un sofisticado sistema matemático, les permitieron desarrollar un calendario preciso.
